Heavy, my pen

Heavy, my pen of late 's become
     These pages too bright
     The brain - numb
The tongue to bray - untrained - dumb
     A liver beat lively
Now, loathsome
My breast be burdened
     in awe, bare beast
The firmament scarred
     By flaunt-fangéd teeth,
Bleeds rivers of martyrs - and I, now meek,
     Mine moors for millstones
Milquetoast, indeed

    • That’s very kind of you to say. I do try to pay attention to my accent/unaccented syllables, but I fear I’ve still a long way to go. Thank you so very much!
