Spring Paint

Mild Musings from a Mediocre Man

The world of brown; of dirt and rock
Is fading to great green
An avalanche of andradite
The tide an emerald sea

Upon the crest a purple breath
Sighs of regal grandeur
Card’nals wrest twigs and sticks for nests
Polite but not quite demure

Buds of white and pink peak timid
The breeze of North still heaves
Promising Winter will return
To claim all blossomed leaves

Still the tilt finds the sun’s shine
Pedals find their pistol
Bumbles fly as spring comes hie
The world a lovely bristol

  1. Beautiful …

Though, I must admit that, as a child of the 1970s, “Bumbles” will forever be associated with the claymation “Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer” …. “Bumbles bounce!” 🙂

    • Ha! I haven’t seen that in years. I guess it was either that our something like “Bumblebee” from Transformers.

“You know, it’s funny what a young man recollects…”
