As a “poet,” you’d think that I would be all inspired and writing furiously, haiku after tanka after nature poem, but it’s not the case. Seriously, it is intimidating. I can’t do it. I don’t have the skill or imagination to bring to life the things that I see, feel, smell, hear, and taste with the words available to me. Unfortunately, I don’t have the photographic ability either! Nevertheless, please enjoy some beautiful cherry blossoms from my little town, Aizu-wakamatsu, Fukushima. I honestly can’t think of a place I’d rather be at this time.

beautiful images from Japan
Wow. Bountiful splendor. What a treat! Our spring is late and we have no flowers of any kind yet. ❤
There are few things worse than a late spring. I know we in Tohoku are desperate to shake off this winter, so hopefully yours will be here soon (minus tornadoes and such. Hated this in Oklahoma)!
I’m just looking forward to some color after our long, dreary winter. All these lovely blooms lift a soul up. ❤
Bravo!
Beautiful!
Such natural beauty can certainly become overwhelming.
This entire prefecture, which is absolutely huge, is gorgeous, too. It’s sensory overload.
These are lovely! I have reblogged so others can share.
Thank you! I have to say that i was thinking about you walking around the castle. I would have bought you a sakura ice cream if you could have joined me. 😀
Oh! I haven’t had that in years!!!! What fun. Folk over here have no idea. On another note, the azaleas around our house and yard – 30 of them are blooming full tilt. I’ll post some pics. 🙂 It is fun to be able to tell in some of the pics how tall you are over most of the locals….grin. Big in japan!
6’3″ is a bit of an oddity here I look forward to your azaleas. 😀
Being 4’10” I would totally fit in. I’d be: Average In Japan. 😉
